“Mariette is present.  She hears the intent behind what I’m saying and reflects it back in a way that I end each conversation feeling stretched and validated, nudged and accepted.

I started working with Mariette when I was choosing between six professional opportunities and all the frameworks and pros/cons lists could not bring clarity on which opportunity was best for me.  After three decades of serial entrepreneurship, I thought it was time to “dial back” to greater work/life balance.

With Mariette’s guidance, I learned that what I thought was the right answer of dialing back was not my right answer.  Instead, I stepped into the greatest, most challenging and most inspiring opportunity of my life, crafting a new business group in a top consulting firm.”

“What I learned from Mariette was foundational and a gift!  Mariette’s eye- and mind-opening transformative experience led me to see that my perceived weakness in my organization is actually my strength.

I learned specific tools to let go of external pressures that no longer serve me. I now trust my intuition, in professional and personal decisions and relationships.  Mariette helped me to see exactly where I had been limiting myself.  Together, we connected many dots, which shifted my perspective so I could see an empowered solution to my challenges.

The greatest revelation was the power of awareness to solve my greatest challenges without struggle.  I knew that mindfulness created a more grounded sense of the world; I did not realize that it could help solve my own problems…by letting the solutions show up!  Mariette taught me that I have all the answers I need if I allow myself to listen.

I now have a roadmap to create a transformational experience for myself and I learned that basic actions, like observation and celebration, do change my life.”

My multi-decade relationship with my wife had become calloused and was coming undone.  I was filled with anxiety, anger, pain and regret.  I suddenly discovered parts of myself which I had never met before, parts I despised.

In my conversations with Mariette, I realized I had the right to see these discarded and hated parts with compassion and tenderness, and to give to myself what I most needed:  love. Mariette opened up another path, another way to view the world; like engaging with the world through a different camera lens, one that is more open, more confidant, more attentive, more loving (not just of me or people, but even of situations and circumstances).

I exited the world of fears and experienced a rebirth of sorts.  I learned that a relationship with open and transparent communication is much richer and resilient. I experienced that serenity actually brings strength and leadership.  I also realized that it takes the same energy to build or to destroy.  I now choose to build.

Today, I feel whole, deeply alive, vibrant, energetic and confident.  From this place of deep rooting within myself, my relationships have transformed.  Despite still being in the midst of our divorce, I was able to be fully present and compassionate, supporting my ex-wife and her family during the passing and funeral of her father.  I’ve left my business partner, a relationship that no longer served me.  I support my kids in new and vibrant ways.

“During a visualization exercise over a decade ago, two troubling images stumped me, until now that is, until my journey with Mariette.  One image was a gift from my grandmother that I couldn’t open; the other an invitation to enter my castle, which I found empty inside.  As I reflect on my journey to brilliance with Mariette as my guide, I realize I now have opened this gift and discovered the treasures inside my castle.

A few years ago, I retired. I no longer had the distraction of work.  I could finally do “my purpose.”  But soon, I found myself overwhelmed and frazzled by my flurry of activities and unclear about my said purpose.  I was increasingly disconnected from myself and growing resentful of all that I was undertaking.  Worse, my resentment was spilling into and beginning to define my relationships with those closest to me. It was in this midst that I engaged with Mariette.

Very quickly, Mariette helped me to see that I was living out a belief that had served me in my career: “If not me, who?”  My superwoman persona was now trying to feed all the “baby birds” of the world – my family, my community, and the numerous national and global crises. I was the fixer of everyone’s problems – welcomed or not.

As Mariette kept the focus on me and where I needed to grow and heal, I discovered that my flurry of activity was an excellent avoidance tactic for looking inward.  She taught me practices to settle into a space of stillness deep within and to gently examine myself through a lens of love and compassion rather than judgment.  With these practices, I started to tap into a joy that had always been a part of me but was denied because I was living under the influence of forces outside of me.  My greatest insight thus far is that I no longer live from a place of how I “think” I am supposed to be in the world.  I live a life that honors my deepest desire, the why I came into being, a place where there is ease, flow and joy.  This insight is the gift my grandmother offered that I could not open until my time with Mariette.

I am now freer than ever before and truly in love with me – all of me – a concept I could not grasp six months ago, as I never thought I was worthy.  My castle now has doors, windows and is full of treasures to discover.  My relationships are more open, honest and easeful. Resentments are falling away, enabling me to be more in awe of the other.   With deep self-assurance, I honor myself by saying “no” to opportunities that tap my skills, but don’t draw from that deep joy within.  I am now living from a place of stillness, calm and wisdom that is rooted in Spirit.  What a gift.  Thank you, Mariette.”

“I'm incredibly grateful to have had Mariette speak at our fall conference.  Mariette’s engaging talk led the teachers and school administrators who attended to receive concrete tools that activate their Inner Leaders and shift the blocks preventing them from best serving their students and leading their colleagues.  The participants felt inspired and ready to address their greatest blocks for the betterment of their school.  In addition to being a great speaker, Mariette is a great listener, which allows her to be gifted facilitator.  She has the rare ability to get people to feel seen for their true potential and take the steps they need to be the best version of themselves.”

This is simply not working” became a regular response as I found myself stuck in loops of thinking and unhelpful patterns of behaviors.  I wanted to understand the blockages and difficulties I was having both at work and in my family.  Also, I was constantly “should’ing” on myself – and on others, for that matter.

Through Mariette’s varied tools and compassionate curiosity, I first developed a better appreciation of my own gifts and what I bring to the world: the infrastructure and space to help people grow.  I realized that, by bringing my gifts fully to the world, I create a space for others to bring their gifts to the world.

From here, my relationships shifted.  As my resistance decreased, I became able to state my position while leaving others room to have their own.  I now have more ease around various outcomes, even when my work gets undone.  I don’t hold onto my ideas as tightly which, ironically, leads to better outcomes.

My family relationships have become calmer and more easeful, with less concern about how things are or should be.  This has created the space for more connection.

I now realize that, when I acknowledge what is actually happening and stop resisting things, they don’t have as much power and actually can become useful.”
